Welcome to the Circus … Entry Price – Your Own Risk

I have to say. Everything seems very different at home. I decided to disappear from Falmouth for a little bit and touch base. The atmosphere is strange. It feels like warning signs are everywhere. I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned, but another life has been taken from the community, in the same kind of way. Drugs. How many more lives is it going to take, for the reality of things to sink in? Two people. Two whole lives. Taken. For the sake of recreational high. Those people had so much potential, so much life ahead of them. It’s such a waste. But this won’t stop, not now. More & more people die everyday. Whether it’s disease, suicide, old age, accidents, murder, indirect self-infliction: drugs, poverty, eating disorders, sacrifice. There are a million causes of death. But some go beyond the ‘unnecessary’ mark.

At a young age, it’s inevitable to feel invincible. You feel energized, free, empowered, immortal. But that doesn’t stop anything from taking life out of your hands. Our bodies, they’re our shells, protecting the organs that let us breathe air and consume food. The clothes we wear are another layer of protection, one reason fashion is so important. Does that mean fashion, or death?
Our heads & our hearts guiding us through life, the two inevitable paths we take in every situation that arises. Do we do the right thing, or what makes us happy? Our souls, our personalities, what makes us unique from every other human being; holding our opinions, voice, potential, intelligence and emotion.

One wrong move, one twist of fate, could it all be over for someone? Yes. We can be as reckless as we like, we have the ability to take our lives, but some could argue we don’t have the right. But in reality, if we can do it, what’s stopping anyone? Fear of death? Fear of hurting? Fear of humiliation of not being able to cope? Fear of having to cope if it doesn’t work?

Deep, huh?

An annoying phrase from a wannabe Kanye West, or one of the most profound things our generation have ever come across? Some use this phrase as an excuse to get fucked off their face and make a complete fool out of themselves for night. Some use it as an excuse to do something they probably shouldn’t, something risky, that makes you feel alive. Some use it as a reason to treat themselves, indulge in something they can’t REALLY afford, all for the thrill.

THRILL.
INDULGE.
RISK.
NIGHT.
ALIVE.
TREAT.
AFFORD.

Welcome to the circus.
Enjoy the THRILL of doing something extreme.
INDULGE in colour, atmosphere, and fun.
Entry price: your own RISK.
Sleep through the day, perform tricks all NIGHT.
Forget about death, feel ALIVE.
TREAT yourself to the lifestyle of a lifetime.
Can you AFFORD to fall into the trap?

This is what’s inspiring this project. Charlie Barker & Georgie Boxall died from taking a drugs. Drugs are a risk, as much as walking a tight rope, hanging from the ceiling with only fabric to balance on, breathing fire, & twisting your body into a knot. Some people get out alive, some don’t.

Watch. This. Space.

I have a lot to say, a lot to prove, a lot to do, and a hell of a lot of awareness to raise.
